Finding wellness through making.
Meet Carolyn
Welcome to Living Skies Fibre Studio!

Hello! I'm Carolyn Carleton, the fibre artist and designer behind Living Skies Fibre Studio.

My fibre arts journey began in my teens, knitting alongside my Grandmother. From those early days, a deep love for fibre arts was born, and it has remained with me ever since. I live in the Land of Living Skies—Saskatchewan, Canada—with my husband and two adult daughters. The natural beauty of this place is a constant source of inspiration for my original crochet and knitting designs.

Since publishing my first pattern in 2014, I've had the privilege of seeing my work featured in magazines, subscription boxes, and celebrated as best-sellers on platforms like Etsy and Ravelry.

Fibre arts became a significant source of mental wellness for me during a challenging period of health issues. There is a unique healing power in the rhythmic, linear movements of working with fibre—a process that seems to reveal something new about myself with every stitch. This passion has evolved into a lifelong pursuit of creativity and well-being.

Driven by my love for fibre, I’ve been teaching this craft for several years at local arts centers and in school classrooms. In 2019, I created "Weaving into Wellness," a hands-on workshop that combines the meditative practice of weaving with an exploration of the mental health benefits of fibre arts.

I am a proud member of the Prince Albert Spinners and Weaver's Guild and recently became an ambassador for the Campaign for Wool in Canada.

Thank you for joining me on this journey through fibre and wellness.
